Channel 3 is learning more about the EPB power outage that left about 13,000 customers in the dark Thursday evening.
Spokesperson John Pless says “an electric system component failure” caused outages in several areas, including Moccasin Bend, Manufacturers Road, North Chattanooga, Red Bank, and Hixson.
Pless says EPB crews were able to restore power to most of the affected customers in about an hour.

Crews are working as quickly as possible to repair outages for about 200 customers.
