A power outage impacting about 4,500 Orangeville Hydro customers was the result of a contractor striking an underground power cable.
At about 1:19 p.m. on Wednesday (Nov. 8), there was a momentary power outage in Orangeville after the contractor dug into a high voltage underground cable on Burbank Crescent.
The outage was relatively short-lived for most customers. However, about 100 customers on Burbank Crescent and Karen Court lost power for about 45 minutes.
Nobody was injured during the incident.
