Trees on lines is listed as the cause of a widespread power outage in the Boularderie area this morning.
Nova Scotia Power is reporting that the outage occurred sometime around 2:40 a.m. this morning and has an estimated restoration time of 10 a.m.
The outage area stretches from Cape Dauphin to Hillside Boularderie and from Millville past Ross Ferry, impacting some 1,184 customers.
Because of the outage, the Cape Breton-Victoria Regional School Board has cancelled classes at Boularderie School.
Nova Scotia Power is also reporting two smaller outages around the island. There’s one in Louisbourg affecting seven customers and another in the Isle Madame and Petit-de-Grat areas that has left about five customers without power.
